The Fli is an impressive, lightweight, USA-made, beautiful rod at an amazing price. They feature a fast-action taper for versatile performance and a good all-purpose rod. They are offered all the way up to a 12-weight which is great news for the angler taking a trip and needing a rod that you may only use a couple times and don't want to spend a lot of money on, or just need a backup rod that won't break the bank. The FLi series is not only stunning in appearance, they are surprisingly lightweight and really enjoyable to cast. The FLi uses an older version of Sage's graphite technology but Sage has worked to keep the weight down by increasing the diameter of the rod blank in order to decrease the wall thickness. Doing this decreases the weight of the rod while also increasing the rod's recovery time. The result to your experience is a rod hat feels very smooth and controlled during the cast while being very light and nice in the hands as well. Comes with a matching Cordura cloth-covered rod tube with built-in sleeves for each rod section and Sage's Lifetime Original Owner Warranty.
For a great match to your FLi rod, we recommend the Ross Evolution in Copper, the Ross CLA, or the Redington CD fly reels.
Our favorite lines on the Sage FLi are Scientific Anglers' GPX or Rio's Rio Grand for good general purpose trout lines.
