The Ringneck Pheasant Rump is probably the most useful part of the Ringneck Pheasant in fly tying. The rump is packaged alone in a smaller, less expensive package, as compared to the complete bird and is available in these great dyed colors. The rump patch is perfect for Carey Specials, Six Packs, Olive Willies, smaller Spey flies, and as a shellback on prawn-style steelhead flies.

Ringneck Pheasant Rump sections are a must for stillwater anglers and provide a long, leggy hackle, useful on all sorts of flies. Ringneck Pheasant Rump feathers are super useful to make buggy dragonfly nymph legs, full feathers make sexy mottled shellbacks on steelhead/salmon flies, and hackles on small Spey flies among other things.
