RIO General Purpose Tropical Saltwater
RIO's General Purpose Tropical Saltwater lines are your secret weapon for the flats. RIO's General Purpose fly lines incorporate a short and over weighted front taper that is easy to cast on modern saltwater fast action rods. A shop favorite, as it can be used for any number of species that roam the saltwater. We have used this line for permit, baby tarpon and bonefish. The over weighted nature of the taper loads the rod at close range but the angler can still carry and cast, with accuracy, due the the medium head length of 40 feet. An often overlooked line in the RIO offerings yet has been around for many years. The RIO General Purpose will also excel in warmwater fisheries for bass.
Here is what RIO has to say about the General Purpose Tropical Saltwater Fly Line.
RIO’s General Purpose Tropical Saltwater lines are designed for anglers that fish in warm climates for a multitude of species. The lines features short, powerful front tapers and are slightly heavier than the industry standard to cast large flies and load powerful saltwater rods with ease. Each line is built on a medium stiff core, has a hard, tropical coating that will not wilt in the heat, and features welded loops on both ends for easy rigging.
Full floating line. Color is Aqua/Sand with the Aqua blue color at the leader.
