Sage Spey Reels

When our friends at Sage asked us for our input on the design of their new Sage Spey Reels, we gave them a long list of features we feel make-up the perfect Spey reel.  They didn't hit them all, but they certainly hit most and we're impressed with the final result.  The Sage Spey series reels are very well made with machined and anodized aluminum construction and a sealed carbon fiber drag system.  The classic porting of the frame and spool give the Sage Spey reels that traditional look and also leaves some weight on the reel to balance perfectly with today's modern Spey rods.  A pleasant, audible click sound on the incoming retrieve and outgoing drag doesn't scream like a Hardy but will definitely let you know you better start running.  The sealed drag system keeps your drag setting at the perfect spot whether the reel is wet or dry.  If you need to adjust your drag during battle, the large, machined aluminum drag knob is easy to adjust even with gloves.  Afterwards, use the numbered settings on the drag knob to get your drag back to exactly where you like it every time.

It would be pretty hard to go wrong with the Sage Spey Reel.  It is a very nice reel that is sure to put the hurt on its share of steelhead and salmon over the years to come.
