Chubby Sally
The Chubby Sally is a yellow sally stonefly pattern tied in the very popular Chubby Chernobyl dry fly style. Yellow sallies hatch in the late July and August time of year on most streams and trout are all over them when they hatch. Unlike other stoneflies, the yellow sally nymphs swim to the surface like a mayfly nymph to hatch in the surface film. It is game-on for the trout and some good yellow sally nymphs and dry flies like the Chubby Sally will be welcome additions to your fly boxes.
