Winter Steelhead

Shrouded in a landscape dominated by olives and grays, a mist veiling the entire scene, a beam of optimism cuts through the damp air.  Carefully stalking a hidden quarry beneath a frigid, glacial-tinted river that provides few clues, the winter steelheader persists, hopeful for an encounter with the fish more revered than any other.  

Braving the cold, wet conditions so common to winter steelheading requires commitment.  It also requires the proper gear.  Here is a selection of some of our favorite winter steelhead inspired rods, flies, and clothing items to keep the pursuit moving ahead until the next grab.
