Smallmouth bass fly fishing on Lake WA is an excellent opportunity to hit the water close to home. Although larger boats are ideal, there is plenty of opportunity here for small boats like a pontoon boat.
Smallmouth are available all year long but, for us fly guys, March thru October is good and May through mid-July is probably the easiest time to find and catch smallmouth. This is mostly true for Lake WA plus numerous other great smallmouth lakes in western Washington.
These two smallmouth were taken on the RIO Flashdance Shad, which has become one of Michael's favorite flies for Lake WA smallmouth bass.
