We really like the new Stu's Metal Head Tube - Black/Blue and think it is the perfect size steelhead tube fly for just about any river condition. The slotted cone adds just a bit of weight but lifts easily out of the water due to the holes in the cone. Those holes also add turbulence behind the fly while on the swing, keeping the marabou, flash, and Lady Amherst sections flowing and moving in the water as much as possible. Stu's Metal Head Tube - Black/Blue comes with junction tubing and a size 4 hook. Total fly length is approximately 2.5-inches measured from the tip of the cone to the tips of the marabou. If you include the Lady Amherst sections, the fly is about 3.25-inches in length.
