The Flashdance has become one of our favorite smallmouth bass flies and this Rainbow version is our choice for imitating small yellow perch in the late summer and fall.
The key to its success may be the long, flashy tail of Flashabou that flitters and flashes on the retrieve. Whatever the case, fish the Flashdance to represent perch, bluegill or other bait-sized fish in your region. We like to fish the Flashdance on a sinking line with a series of very fast strips followed by a long pause (like fishing a jerkbait). Hold on tight during the pause!
RIO's Flashdance is tied on a stainless steel size 2 saltwater hook. Total fly length is generally about 3.5 inches in length.
