Crazy Dad - Orange
We love the Crazy Dad as a small crayfish imitation for both smallmouth and largemouth bass. It is a little guy for a bass fly, but it has a great history with us. The Crazy Dad looks great in the water and swims with the hook point riding up for fewer snags. This Orange color would be our choice for one to fish all year long.
We have fished the Crazy Dad extensively for smallmouth in lakes and rivers and it has proven itself over and over again on smallies and largemouth as well. Even though this fly is quite small as crawdad bass flies go, it's amazing how many big bass have eaten this guy for us. It is also a great choice when casting lighter rods like a 4- or 5-weight.
