Mud Bug - Orange
The Mud Bug - Orange is a crayfish imitating fly tied on a jig-style hook with a heavy tungsten head. Fish it in the rivers dead drift under an indicator for both trout and smallmouth. The Mud Bug will also be a great fly for carp when you need a quick descending fly in deeper water and the carp are looking for crawdads. Finally, we'll certainly be fishing the Mud Bug - Orange on some of our smallmouth lakes, crawling it on rocky bottoms on a full sinking line. Great fly! We like this burnt orange color early in the season and move to the olive color in mid-summer.
