The Simple Crab - Olive Brown from Mike McGovney was created for large Hawaiian bonefish and other flats species and addresses the challenge of enticing wary bonefish in shallow waters. Designed to land more delicately than typical permit crabs, this fly still maintains a natural profile while riding hook-up. Its soft, flowing materials mimic the crab’s shell and shape with lifelike realism underwater. Mike recommends fishing it very slowly and pausing once the fish notices it, imitating a crab’s stillness when hiding.
