CDC Feathers
CDC, or Cul De Canard, feathers are taken from the preen gland area of a duck and naturally repel water. Despite their appearance they float like a cork and are naturally hydrophobic. Used in tons of fly patterns, CDC also can be used on subsurface flies where the CDC feathers hold air bubbles for a cool effect on patterns like caddis pupa and mayfly emergers. Very popular for Euro jig nymphs as well.
