Galloup's Bent Cripple - Gray

Montana Fly Company

When mayflies hatch, not everything always goes as planned and some hatching duns are left in a situation where they are especially easy prey to trout.  Kelly Galloup's Bent Cripple - Gray imitates this vulnerable situation often encountered when Callibaetis mayflies are hatching.  On the Bent Cripple, the hook shank is bent to the side and the wing is tied off to the side, just like many of the cripples we see during mayfly hatches.

Trout seem to take note of cripples in selective, food-rich environments.  Try the Galloup Bent Cripple on your favorite lake, spring creek or stream for extra selective fish that need a little extra incentive to rise to the surface.
