Designed for and on our beloved desert rivers – the Deschutes, Salmon, Snake and Clearwater – the full-floating Greased Line 40 Plus shooting head sings on any system where anadromous fish fixate on broadside wet- and dry-fly swings. While longer than typical Skagit or Scandi systems, Greased Line 40 Plus is still short enough to cast and fish comfortably on all-around spey rod lengths as short as 12.5ft. That makes it the perfect line for anglers branching out into longer heads and floating lines without committing to dedicated long rods and true long belly lines. Paired with monofilament leaders or Versileaders, the head’s steep rear taper combined with a delicate front diameter strikes the perfect balance of grace and performance, giving you the added reach and fishing efficiency that comes with longer spey lines.
