RIO InTouch Skagit Max GameChanger

RIO's InTouch Skagit Max GameChanger is a multi-density Skagit head. Multi-density shooting heads not only allow you to swing a fly deeper, but they really cut through complex currents and slow the swing down. We really like fishing these kinds of heads for chinook salmon, and for winter steelhead when it's really low and clear and the fish are hunkered down in the deepest buckets. But these heads also have play in shallower water as well. When the water temps drop and fish become lethargic, swinging a fly slowly in front of their face can often be the ticket to tantalize them into grabbing your fly. When fishing this head in shallow water we like using a light tip like 10 feet of T8 or a 10 or 15 foot Type 3 Replacement tip and an unweighted fly to minimize hanging up. The GameChanger can also be a good head when swinging for trout in the winter when water temps are really low. This multi-density head starts with a floating section in the back, which is crucial for pulling the head out of the water and tracking the swing. Then it transitions into hover, or 1 inch per second, to intermediate, 2 inches per second, to a type 3, or, 3 inches per second in the front end. Whether you're fishing T material or Intouch 15ft Replacement Tips, this head will turn over just about anything you attach to it, and fish it deeper and slower than your standard Skagit heads.

• 200gr to 450gr – .024/.026” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 25lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 450gr to 575gr – .030/.032” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 35lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 575gr to 675gr – .035/.037” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 44lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
• 675gr and bigger – .040/.042” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 50lb SlickShooter/GripShooter
