This package comes with a G. Loomis IMX PRO V2 9 foot 5wt rod, one of the very best mid-priced rods on the market. Three fly lines to cover every lake fishing scenario we can think of, spooled up on a Lamson Liquid -5+ reel with two spare spools. This outfit allows you to easily go from fishing a floating line with an indicator rig to a slow sinking line and then a fast sinking line in just a few minutes.
The reel and the pre-loaded spare spools come in a nice carrying case from Lamson, and we've included two RIO Trout Powerflex Plus 7.5' leaders for the two sinking lines, and one RIO Indicator leader for fishing chironomids, balanced leeches, and blob flies.

Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth Anadro Indicator Fly Line - 5wt
The Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth Anadro Indicator fly line has been one of our favorites here at the shop for a long time. We really like this line out on the lake for fishing long leaders with indicators while fishing with balanced leeches or chironomids, but this line is also a great line for the rivers. If a hatch presents itself on the lake the Anadro Indicator line will do just fine, but we recommend lengthening your leader, as the Anadro can land a bit heavy on the water. More info.

Scientific Anglers SONAR Stillwater Seamless Density Full Sinking Fly Line - 5wt S3/S5
Your lake fishing quiver would not be complete without a fast sinking fly line. Often times this will be your go to line when fishing Stillwater. We've chosen the S3/S5 Seamless Density sinking line for this outfit, which means that the running line sinks at about 3 inches per second, and the head of the line sinks at 5 inches per second. This is a good all-around sink rate for a sinking line. RIO Indicator - 10 Foot 4X Leader
RIO Indicator Leaders are the perfect leader for fishing chironomids, balanced leeches, and blob flies. These leaders have a short butt section that transitions into a long level piece of tippet. Allowing your suspended flies to sink quickly and have a more natural presentation. Depending on the depth of the lake you may need to lengthen the leader by adding some tippet. we recommend adding a Scientific Anglers Micro Swivel to the end of the leader and then adding an appropriate amount of fluorocarbon tippet. RIO Trout Powerflex Plus 7.5' 3X Leaders - 2 Pack
RIO Trout Powerflex Plus leaders are great for the sinking lines. Powerflex Plus leaders are stronger per diameter than RIO's standard Powerflex leaders, and the shorter 7.5 foot length keeps the flies closer to the fly line which will keep the flies down in the strike zone. We've provided the 2 pack of leaders included in the rod and reel outfit, one for each of the sinking lines. More info.

Backing
Your outfit will come with the perfect amount backing already loaded onto the reel and attached to your line. We only use the best knots to rig your setup. We use the Bimini Twist with a lock then seal it with glue to form a large loop and the most trustworthy connection. Your backing and fly line are then looped together for a strong connection that glides through the rod guides with ease.
