Airflo Rage Compact
Airflo
Airflo's Rage Compact floating line is designed to cast like their Skagit Compact, but fish as a straight floater. So, working with Tom Larimer, Airflo developed the new Rage Compact. This new addition to the Skagit family keeps you in the "Floating" game under extremely windy and tight quarter casting situations. Its aggressive front taper gives ultimate power for driving casts into the strongest winds, the rear taper helps load quickly, giving you incredible control in tight casting conditions.
According to Tom Larimer, choose a grain weight in the Rage Compact that is 30 grains lighter than what you throw on your Skagit heads. Go 60 grains lighter if you like a lighter, faster feel to your floating lines.
Airflo 10-foot PolyLeaders with 2 to 3 feet of tippet are perfect on the Rage. The Intermediate sinking is our favorite for swinging traditional wet flies. If you don't go with the Polyleaders, remember to always use a leader length of about the same length of your rod or slightly longer when using floating lines.
