Scientific Anglers Spey Lite Skagit Heads

Scientific Anglers

Scientific Anglers Spey Lite Skagit Heads are short, floating heads for single-hand, switch, or light Spey rods. These little Skagit heads are great for swinging streamers or soft hackles on your favorite trout stream or light steelhead action.  Attach the head to a thin running line and add a sinking tip and you are ready for action.  The SA Spey Lite Skagit Heads are just the ticket for single-hand or switch rod Spey casting, especially when fishing in tight quarters.

Here is what Scientific Anglers has to say about their Spey Lite Skagit Heads:

Introducing our Spey Lite collection, and the Lite Skagit shooting head. Designed for light double-handed duty and with a short, powerful taper, the Lite Skagit is ideal for smaller streams and trout Spey applications. Available in grain weights from 150-360, this two-colored shooting features a black marker at the end of the head that serves as a visible notification on where to begin your cast. Works perfectly with our SONAR Sinking Leaders and textured TC Tips. From dredging for steelhead to swinging streamers for trout, the Skagit Lite is Spey on a smaller scale.

  • Ultra-short head for turning over heavy tips and large, weighted flies with light two-handed rods
  • Standalone head designed to be used with shooting line; ideal for trout Spey applications as well as light steelhead
  • Ultra-short head length works well for casting with limited room behind you
  • Braided multifilament core
